ABB has launched two new GoFaTM collaborative robots: GoFa 10 and GoFa 12, adding new possibilities for more efficient collaborative robot automation. The loads of the two collaborative robots are 10kg and 12kg respectively. They have excellent repeat positioning accuracy and can closely cooperate with workers to complete more tasks, improving safety and productivity while coping with labor and skill shortages. The new GoFa collaborative robot supports easy and intuitive programming and can be quickly integrated into the production environment, lowering the entry barrier for first-time users, educators and SMEs.
"Since launching the YuMi collaborative robot in 2015, ABB has built an industry-leading product line of collaborative robots to meet the growing demand for safe and easy-to-use automation solutions, filling the technical workforce ” He also said: “To meet the demand for cobots with higher payloads and greater work envelopes, our GoFa 10 and GoFa 12 cobots extend the benefits of automation to new industrial applications, even for the first time. Users who use bots also benefit.”
In addition to improving the load capacity, the GoFa 10 and GoFa 12 collaborative robots have a tool center point (TCP) speed of up to 2m/s, and a leading repeat positioning accuracy of up to 0.02mm, which is twice that of other similar solutions. At the same time, the IP67 protection level of GoFa 10 and GoFa 12 can prevent moisture and dust, extending the advantages of high speed and high precision of collaborative robots to new industrial applications, especially suitable for machining, welding, material handling, polishing and assembly, etc. Demanding tasks for automation. GoFa 10 has a working range of up to 1.62m, which is 14% higher than similar products, enough to cover US pallets, making it ideal for palletizing applications.
Lower barriers to automation for first-time users and SMEs
GoFa 10 and GoFa 12 cobots are intuitive and easy to program, deploy and use, lowering the barrier to entry for first-time users and SMBs. Its guided programming and ABB's Wizard easy programming software greatly simplifies the setup, without writing complex programming codes, even non-professionals can quickly realize application automation by operating simple graphical instruction blocks.
The ABB SafeMove app is pre-installed on the teach pendant on the new GoFa, which features features such as safe speed limits, standstill monitoring and direction monitoring, enabling close collaboration between robots and factory workers without the need for bulky protective fences.
The GoFa 10 and GoFa 12 cobots are powered by an OmniCoreTM controller. Thanks to ABB TrueMove and QuickMove technologies, OmniCore brings industry-leading motion control, which, combined with GoFa's intelligent torque and position sensors, ensures the smooth motion required for high-precision surface finishing, tightening, assembly and testing tasks. In addition, OmniCore also has energy-saving functions including energy feedback and braking energy recovery, which reduce power consumption by 20%, thereby improving sustainability.
Take advantage of innovations from ABB's robotics ecosystem
In response to increasingly diverse automation applications, ABB has launched the ABB Robotics Ecosystem Program. It integrates compatible third-party accessories such as grippers, cameras and custom software with ABB's product range, including the new GoFa cobot, making it easy for users to quickly innovate with the growing ABB robotics ecosystem.
